Dissection using calorimetry, isocratic titration calorimetry (ITC) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), gives us essential information on molecular-molecular interaction or heat capacity of the target molecule. We quantify dissociation constant and type of binding reaction, whether enthalpy driven or entropy driven. By monitoring heat capacity, we measure denaturation midpoint of protein or upper/lower critical solution temperature of synthesized polymer.
