History of Hokkaido University, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Biological Sciences (Macromolecular Science and Engineering);

  • 2010
    • Established the Transdisciplinary Life Science course with the reorganization of the Graduate School of Life Science (The Graduate school of Science Biology/ Biological Science course and The Graduate school of Life Science/ Bio-information and Molecular Science course were integrated). “
  • 2010
    • Integrated Science Research Faculty with the reorganization of the Research Organization and Advanced Life Sciences Research Institute.
  • 2008
    • The new integrated field in the doctoral program started in the Bio-information and Molecular Science course of graduate school in life science (National Institute for Materials Science Biomaterials Center).
  • 2006
    • The Fuculty of Science Research was reorganized into the Institute of Science and the Graduate School of Science.
    • The Advanced Life Science Research Institute and the Graduate School of Life Science were established.
    • As a research organization, teachers belonged to the Institute of Science and the Advanced Life Science Research Institute.
    • In the graduate education, we were in charge of Life Science Biology (the Biological Science course) and Life Science (the Life Science course), the Bio-information and Molecular Science course.

    • In the Institute of Science, we signed a Joint Graduate School Agreement (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology; Hokkaido Center)

    • Established the Graduate School of Science, the Biological Science course (With emphasis on the Graduate School, the macromolecule course, the zoology course and the botany course were integrated).
    • Aimed to elucidate the biological phenomena from the view point of macromolecular science, we established the Biological Macromolecular Analysis Course and the Biological Macromolecular Design Course (course for a large number of students)

       ▪ Biological Macromolecular Analysis Course 3 (formerly the fifth “Biological Macromolecular Course”)
       ▪ Biological Macromolecular Design Course 1 (formerly the second “Macromolecular Physics and Chemistry Course”)
       ▪ Biological Macromolecular Design Course 2 (formerly the third “Macromolecular Solution Physics Course”)
       ▪ Biological Macromolecular Design Course 3 (formerly the fourth ” Macromolecular Chemistry Course”)

    • Established Biological Science course of the Faculty of Science (Macromolecular Science and Engineering). With emphasis on the Graduate School simultaneously, we were responsible for the undergraduate education of Macromolecular Science and Engineering in the Biological Science course in the faculty education.
